Nobody is perfect and trying to live up to your pre-programmed version and/or other people’s interpretations and expectation of how you should be and what you should be doing will lead you down the path of feeling forever inadequate, unworthy and to be completely blunt, feeling like sh*t.

The moment I gave myself permission to be honest with my current situation and to see what was really going on and assess my active or inactive part in it, instead of how I felt things should be, I was able to get some clarity on which areas needed my focus, what steps I needed to take to move me forward and reflect on who I want to surround myself with.

This can be a hard pill to swallow at times because when we look inside and take ownership of our actions and decisions, we stop the victim mentally and play the blame game. This is where the growth happens. Where we learn and become more self-aware, forgiving and accountable and where we nurture the person we want to become.

I have learned to accept that until the day I die I am going to be forever learning and with that learning, there are going to be mistakes along the way; where my integrity, morals and character will be challenged and enhanced; where I come across new situations and have to draw upon my past experiences to help me make the best decision with the best intentions at that time. This is the beautiful journey called life!
