Wheel of Choice

We all feel overwhelmed at times. For some, it may be fleeting but for others, it can be much longer.

When it is for a long period of time it can have a detrimental effect on your physical and mental health, confidence, self-worth, relationships, and job.

Self-regulation is a powerful skill that is great for adults and children alike. The wheel of choice is a proactive way to self-regulate emotions of overwhelm, fear, and self-doubt. It helps you to strengthen your problem-solving skills, shift your focus, and to ask yourself, 'What do I really need right now?'

Compassion - What do I need - connection, physical contact, self-forgiveness?

Quiet place - Do I need to meditate, read, decompress?

Movement - Do I need to get rid of excess energy?

Curiosity - Where do I need to shift my focus? What am I assuming here? What is fact?

Support - Who can I reach out to (friend, work colleague, mentor/coach)?

Joy - What puts a smile on my face and uplifts me (music, dancing, meeting a friend)?

Knowledge - What do I need to know/do? Where can I get this information?

Nature - Get outside (park, beach, forest, desert)
